Claudia Medina is a saxophone player, producer, composer and educator from Lima, Peru. Medina studied classical music in the National Conservatory of Peru. Claudia received a Full Tuition Scholarship for Berklee College of Music where she graduated with a double major in Jazz Composition and Performance and a minor in music production and recording. Claudia has significant experience arranging for large-scale shows including the Latin Vive Festival (2018, 2019), the Women Musicians Network Concert (2017) and the Berklee Folk Festival, where she produced the “Show of Peru”. Medina was the conductor, musical director, arranger, and one of the key performers for the Ibero-American Film Festival (2018) in Boston and the “Idolos Latinos” Shows (2019, 2020). Medina has arranged and orchestrated for Grammy- winner Aida Cuevas at her concert in Boston in 2019 and for well-known Mexican composer Armando Manzanero’s Cinco de Mayo event at the Mexican Consulate (2018). She participated in musicals like “Sweet Charity” (2014), “Musical 2015” (2015) and “Déjame Que Te Cuente” , the first original peruvian musical in honor of Chabuca Granda (2017). She also has shared stages with Grammy winner musicians such as Susana Baca, Oscar Stagnaro, Eva Ayllon, Paquito D’ Rivera, Greg Phillinganes, etc. Claudia is the leader of Claudia Medina’s Peruvian Project and founded the worldwide educational program “FROM PERÚ TO THE WORLD” which she has toured with to Colombia, Peru and the United States. She also received the TUMI USA award in the category “Arte y Cultura por el Estado de Massachusetts” and the “Outstanding Artist Award” by Latinas Maria in Lynn, Massachusetts. At the moment, Medina is working on her album release thanks to the Boston Foundation.
