Jake Baldwin Residency: Quintet Album Release

Since moving to the Twin Cities in 2013, Jake Baldwin has been one of the busiest freelance trumpeters around. If you’ve been to a show with a trumpet in the last 8 years, there is a good chance you’ve heard him. Working with a multitude of artists in every genre from folk bands to the Minnesota Orchestra, Baldwin has taken the influences of his time in the Twin Cities and written his debut album about it. “Where You’re Planted”, which Jazz Weekly calls “a well rooted venture” is out on Shifting Paradigm Records October 15th and the official CD release party will be at Icehouse on Monday, October 18th. Baldwin will be joined by an all star band comprised of Nelson Devereaux on sax, Ted Godbout on piano, Ted Olsen on bass, and Adam Harder Nussbaum on drums.
