A dynamic and many-sided creative, American pianist and composer Will Kjeer is on the rise in a global artistic landscape that has never been more diverse or accomplished. Musical from an early age, Will studied Jazz piano and related arts across the U.S. and Canada, earning recognition in cities from Montreal to Los Angeles and developing a complex and multifaceted pianist technique that speaks of a belief that innovation has always been the living tradition of creative music. His sound has earned him performances for audiences across America at venues including the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall in Chicago. Will is an alumni of Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead, the Steans Music Institute, the 2018 winner of the Angel City Jazz Festival Young Artist Competition, a 2019 Yamaha Young Performing Artist, and is proud to have had the opportunity to perform for Herbie Hancock as one of five piano finalists for admission to the Thelonious Monk Institute, the most prestigious higher education program in the world for jazz musicians.
