Will Kjeer, Dave King, Charlie Lincoln

Prolific drummer/composer Dave King is well known for his propulsive work in a number of different bands. From The Bad Plus to Happy Apple to Halloween, Alaska, each group has its own sound and approach, but all are approached in a steadfast manner. These groups are all serious units of focused players who are completely dialed in, honing a solid band sound and identity.
Will Kjeer is a pianist and composer based in Los Angeles, California. With a love for many musical styles and a deep background in jazz and classical music, he has performed throughout North America at venues such as the Twin Cities and Iowa jazz festivals, the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington DC, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Upstairs Jazz Club in Montreal, Quebec. Will is an alumni of Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead and of Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, the 2018 winner of the Angel City Jazz Festival Young Artist Competition, and a 2019 Yamaha Young Performing Artist. He is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Charlie Lincoln is an in-demand bassist in the Twin Cities, performing with artists including Eric Kamau Grávátt (Weather Report) and Dave King (The Bad Plus). Charlie has toured in China, Thailand, and Taiwan and has appeared at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, the Iowa City Jazz Festival, and the Hua Hin International Jazz Festival. In 2016, he co-founded the collective quartet Hoaxer which released its debut album Crash Test in 2017 on Illicit Productions. He studied at Berklee College of Music’s Global Jazz Institute under the direction of Danilo Perez and graduated in 2019.
